Tom received an MA from Edinburgh University and joined the Bar after teaching for sixteen years, acting as Head of History in a school in the Midlands. Whilst studying law in Nottingham he received the Lord Brougham scholarship and Walter Wigglesworth major scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn and was called to the Bar in 2007.

Tom has a mixed common law practice and appears on behalf of both the Defence and Prosecution in the Magistrates’ and Crown courts as well as regularly attending the County Court in a wide range of cases. He has a particular interest in family work and dealing with both Children Act matters and ancillary relief.
